There is often a reason why dragons never leave their caves… and dragon squirrels doubly so! It was on the 10th month 4 nights prior to moon fall that Tra left his cave in invitation to the visitation of the new College to be founded in the land within the scorpion hole of Narrowhaven. Upon arriving he met a tall and stately Drow who claimed to no longer frequent the Underdark where Tra and most strange unearthly beings tended to find solace beneath in the comforting cavern holes. And also it was his esteemed pleasure to meet again the magical Lady in Blue who had many times proven her respect of magical beings with an offering, this time being an apple.
Tra found this to be most enlightening as the humans, elves, and drow wound their way through the misbegotton creation of mad wizards which was the academy with its winding escher-esque stairs as soon thereafter the Lady in Blue announced the grand opening of her new home. Walking through the portal and finding a home much like Tra’s beloved tree house in the forgotten lands he had thought to move in but considered mayhap it was time to share his cave with many of his new found friends.
So taking hands in paws in a circle Tra leaped recalling with Blackguard Chromatic Draconic magic to his cave using the special blue white stone of summoning to bring the others thereby avoiding the forsaken paths of the underdark. Upon arriving at the forgotton isle of Tra’s faithful adoped wolf family the Steelbane clan, Tra introduced them to his lair, throne, and eventually to the vortex gate, which would once again return them to the land of the Mortals (Narrowhaven).
However a peaceful evening was not to be found for when Tra arrived with his 3 consorts he found one of them summoned by a wizard in a black pointy hat, who was followed by a fearful woman in white (Sasha?) who appeard to be deathly afraid of squirrels. Sensing her fear and seeing the presence of magic in her Tra decided to pull in his blood red dragon spines, and transform back into a common squirrel to avoid detection. Like the dragons of old to avoid the prowess of human hunters, save for the color of their blood revealing their true chromatic or metallic origin Tra withdrew to his lesser form detracting his dragconic visage. And yet when he hopped up to introduce himself she still screamed and ran pointing “It talked!”. The wizard in black however with his magical true sight seemed less bothered in the presence of the small fire breather.
While sharing in a bit of underground repast Tra had taken in a bag with both the Drow and Astra from the forbidden underlands Tra turned to feel a comforting heat and the land behind him was burned by the falling of a strange red woman calling herself Niera, who seemed rather upset with a man in gold calling himself Trance. It seemed the two of them were having a lovers quarrel until the dead were raised, both were struck down and Tra upon summoning dragonic power in a field of anti-magic found himself frozen in time until he awoke quite suddenly to find both of them dead on the ground.
Fearing he had slain Neira and Trance in a draconic wrath he stepped back to find astra had been eaten by a Chimera! Tra bent to try to ressurrect Neira and Trance but onnly seeing Neira raise complaining of being changed into a mortal Tra shook his furry head thinking… if only I had used draconic power in full form… mayhap she would be better?
Then seeing the lady in Blue weakened he drew from his arm and offered her life energy as she exclaimed “Help Astra” and pointed to the chimera. Seeing the chimera wiht Astras eyes Tra deduced something strange was a’foot as he hopped toward her. So using the blackguard power “Dark Sacrifice” Tra bled out all of his magic to attempt to heal Astra as she leaped back in pain screaming “No Magic.” Tra then hopped to the blue ladys side as they walked Astra to the house of the king and to the bedroom with the large bear upon it.
Watching the Lady of Blue and noting there was nothing he could do to help her he heard her speak the word Tiefling in reference to Astra. Now a tiefling is known to be of 1/4 demon blood, hence the “Tiamat Demonling name ie tiefling” And seeing Astras true form as a Chimera and not wishing her to lose the children she bore within, Tra drew from the oldest magic he knew usable… bloodmagic. Being a partial tiefling Dragon squirrel of the oldest and most powerful tiefling blood (DRAGONS) Tra knew as an animal if anything could save her mayhap it would be his own life energy… but this of course would have consequences… mayhap her children could be born dragons or even squirrels!
It is commonly known in the land that nothing can kill a dragon save it be to remove his or her head, but a dragon squirrel is quite the opposite, for we know that a squirrel if it loses its tail out of pure pride and arrogancy will no longer wish to live and slowly vanish away entirely. So it was with Tra as he looked upon her that he offered not his tail but his blood/life essence to her to drink as he sat by her bediside fanging deep the wound that had healed over in his right arm where the giant scorpion had slashed him but a week earlier… and watching her as his blood drained from his body he faded away… until there was nothing left… to respawn once again as all pure magical beings do… (so long as their lair remains intact) within his lair and cave.
